Featuring some of the greatest soul music and vocals ever written, this exciting November night will fill Wembley with soul thanks to the spectacular, star studded ‘Voices of Soul’ event. Headed by the legendary likes of Patti LaBelle, The Whispers and Soul II Soul, the line-up of award winning stars are preparing for this once in a lifetime opportunity to bring the house down at the SSE Arena, Wembley.
At the very top of the bill will be multi-Grammy award winner Patti LaBelle, christened the ‘Godmother of Soul’ thanks to a five decade career that has seen 50 million albums sold. After her 16 years as the lead singer of Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles, LaBelle made the decision to go solo and had several number one hits including ‘If Only You Knew’ and ‘On My Own’, a duet with Michael McDonald. Tremendous critical success followed from Grammy Award winning albums, making her one of the icons of soul music the world over.
Also headlining are LA four piece The Whispers, whose list of 33 top ten hits and twenty Billboard charting albums stretch back to the birth of soul in the 60s. One of the most influential groups of their generation, they were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003, and accepted by popular vote into the Soul Music Hall of Fame in 2012. Their ground breaking rise in the 60s has also been recognised by the Rhythm and Blues Foundation, who handed the group their prestigious Pioneer Award in 2008.
Meanwhile, from our very own shores, Soul II Soul first found fame in 1989 with huge UK number one ‘Back To Life (However Do You Want Me’)’, a track which also reached the top 5 in the USA and endures to this day. The band went on to win two Grammy awards, and have twice been nominated for ‘Best British Group’ at the BRIT awards, with five nominations in total.
The list of incredible talent on hand for the ‘Voices of Soul’ goes on, including:
Tickets: £50, £60, £75, £80, £100
Post-punk indie single set to hit on June 15th
Currently based in New Orleans – the birthplace of soul and jazz – This buzzy rock band ‘YO’ are seriously not afraid to go against the grain. After travelling the world and making homes in various corners of the USA and Europe, the music and lyrics draws upon a wealth of inspirations and tales from the road.
The latest single taken from the album will be hitting us with a unique, punk laced track ‘Shake It’ – dripping in punchy bass-lines, quasi-spoken vocals and a distinctly trippy sensibility.

A brand new duo from the North East of England, Dalimore are Dan Bishop and Nathan Brewis who formed as a duo late in 2014 having previously worked on separate musical projects. It hasn’t taken long for them to find their sound, with new single ‘Higher’ due for release on May 11th.
With comparisons to the likes of Kodaline, The Fray, The Script, Coldplay, Ben Howard and more, their tracks blend genres from indie, via soul, to pop-rock, taking in influences from their own individual backgrounds and mixing them to great effect.
You can hear the single ‘Higher’ on YouTube now, with a full official video due May 1st:
With the single recorded and ready for release, the pair are now working on ideas for their first EP, collecting together new tracks to continue on their journey to spread their music as far and wide as possible.
Their mission statement is to produce songs about making the most of life and working hard to be the best you can be – even when it seems easier to give up. It’s an admirable outlook, and one that has proven successful in the music industry in the past.
If there’s any justice, this level of determination will soon see Dalimore making their own mark on the music industry.
Lies is one of the new tracks from The Franks, a gritty pop soul band that mould jazz tones with the soulful vocals of their leads incredible tone. The song is fun and upbeat with a great vocal accompaniment, using the group to provide a variation of pitch which is then grounded by the husky grounded sound of their lead.

Mjeez is a young and upcoming artist from Africa. Despite clear talents in his voice and ability to play the guitar, ‘Don’t Go Away’ can be seen to lack originality, in the way of its theme- the break up. While his style is somewhat catered towards the RnB/Soul crowd, the track undoubtedly has a catchy hook and urban sounds are used to bolster the credibility of the track too.
